What are some unique hotels in Canada that aren't necessarily expensive?
Hotels that are historically significant, have a local charm or interesting story behind them.
And preferably not the brand hotels like Hyatt, Marriott, Intercontinental, (something smaller or even a hole of a room... but there's something unusual to it)?
And particularly what about the ones in the maritimes and Quebec? I know Vancouver, Victoria, Whistler, and Banff, and Jasper, are loaded with suites and lodges that you won't find elsewhere. What are some unique hotels in Canada that aren't necessarily expensive?
the sylvia hotel is a vancouver landmark ... high season the cheapest room is $129 ...
"The Sylvia Hotel is a designated heritage building, ideally located on English Bay, beside Stanley Park and just 5 minutes from downtown Vancouver. Built in 1912, the Sylvia Hotel is a city landmark and one of Vancouver's greatest treasures. The location is a favourite for business travelers wanting to be out of the busy downtown core, for families vacationing on the beach or for romantic getaways. The Sylvia Hotel is definitely one of Vancouver's best kept secrets. The old fashioned character and friendly service gives travelers a home away from home. The Sylvia Hotel offers a fantastic location, great value, superb quality with a wonderful beachside dining experience!"
the buchan hotel is a unique little hotel ... in the middle of a residential neighbourhood but walking distance to stanley park, denman street, english bay ... it starts at $55 a night ...
"The Buchan Hotel is an economically priced hotel ideal for travelers seeking clean, quiet, and comfortable accomodation. The Buchan hotel is located in a residential area of Vancouver's downtown West End, one block from Stanley Park, and three blocks from English Bay Beach. The Buchan hotel is 100% non smoking to ensure your comfort."
Commons Inn in Halifax- three(?) old buildings strung together, with rooftop decks- in a kind of grotty neighbourhood- not dangerous or anything- easy walk to downtown and the harbour- not so easy coming back because it's uphill. (The old part of Halifax is kind of vertical)What are some unique hotels in Canada that aren't necessarily expensive?
Eric, you're scaring me. You're not actually planning on coming to Canada are you? Please, say it ain't so.
The Fairmont Royal York Toronto. What are some unique hotels in Canada that aren't necessarily expensive?
In Cobourg, about 2(?) hours east of Toronto, is the King George Inn. There was a large Victorian house there that the province took over, and they built a jail right next to it. The house was the quarters for the superintendent, and offices. In the late 1990's, it stopped being a jail, and a company turned it into an Inn.
It is really nice! Very comfortable, with good quality furnishings, etc. You can stay in the old house, or in the jail. The cells have been turned into rooms, but, many of the original things have been left: like bars, and even the original shower in one room. All the rooms are different, so it appeals to couples, and families, and so on. One room has 3' walls on 3 sides, and the other looking into the old exercise yard. They guarantee your sleep there: it is a silent room. Another is a library, with shelves, and shelves filled with books. And so on.
It is not very expensive, and the site is rather nice: kitty corner to the Victoria Hall, te city hall with it's restored Opera House, and 1 block from the Marina which is next to a really nice beach. The town itself is pretty, with lots of Victorian architecture, a park (where they play free concerts in summer), and some nice places to eat. 8km west is Port Hope, another nice community, with all sorts of quaint shops downtown, a Scottish tearoom, fire museum...
I've spent some very pleasant days there.

A couple years ago I travelled to New Brunswick for a holiday, and while no place in particular stands out as unique, all the places were super clean, and inexpensive. NB was actually a pretty decent place to visit. Sort of off the beaten track for tourists, but, so much the better because of it.
If you are visiting Quebec City in the summer, hotels are very, very expensive. But, Laval University rents out their dorm rooms, for 1/2 or even 1/3 of what a motel would cost. They are dorm rooms, and not air conditioned (bathroom down the hall), but, for budget travellers who just need a bed, an excellent choice. And, Quebec city is so worth seeing...

What is the nearest hotel to stay in if you are leaving on the Carnival Victoria the next day?
We are flying into Puerto Rico in the morning and have a whole day to waste 8 p.m. what is the nearst hotel near the airport and would get me to Carnival Victoria dock in a short time. What is the nearest hotel to stay in if you are leaving on the Carnival Victoria the next day?
Sheraton Old San Juan. You can walk from the hotel to the cruise port across the street, and its a very nice hotel. What is the nearest hotel to stay in if you are leaving on the Carnival Victoria the next day?
Carnival has a ship named "Victory", but not "Victoria".
The Victory most likely docks in Old San Juan, so anything near there would be convenient. I suggest you go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards", then go to the board for San Juan departures [can't remember what it's called, as I have no reason to look into those threads]. You'll find lots of reliable, recent info from experienced cruisers.
You won't have a "whole day to waste" [assuming you mean 8 pm departure]. You can board the ship early and leave your luggage in your cabin and then go back out and explore, or you can just enjoy the ship and its facilities [not the pools or casino, though] while it's in port until sail-away time. You may be able to board as early as 11:30 or so, though you may not be able to get into your cabin until 1:30 or so. But you can have lunch, learn your way around, etc.
From what I've read at CC, it's fairly easy to get hotel deals in OSJ on Priceline or Hotwire. We stayed at a very nice "boutique" hotel called the Coral Princess, just outside of OSJ. We weren't going on a cruise, but I don't think it was that far from the dock. What is the nearest hotel to stay in if you are leaving on the Carnival Victoria the next day?

A nice but reasonably priced hotel in/near downtown Victoria?
Will be doing some walking around downtown for just a day and visiting the gardens. Would prefer something close to downtown and the Port Angeles ferry with inexpensive parking (we'll have a car). Prefer newer hotel with good A/C and plumbing but doesn't need to be fancy...any recommendations? Are there any good chain hotels comparable to a Hampton Inn?A nice but reasonably priced hotel in/near downtown Victoria?
A lot of the hotels are not filling up right now, so don't forget you can usually strike a deal. Feel free to barter a bit.
The Days Inn is fine, nothing special, but clean and okay. The Laurel Point is really nice, and just renovated and sometimes you can get a good deal. I wouldn't bother with the Hotel Grand Pacific or the Empress, very antique-y and over priced. If you go a little further into downtown from the water there is a Travelodge and a Mariott. Both good chains.
Try the Days Inn right across the street from the Black Ball ferry terminal.

The Days Inn is okay and probably one of the more reasonable hotels in the downtown area. There are a lot of hotels however some of them can be, even with the lower economy, quite pricey at this time of the year. You may want to look at some of the online booking sites for accommodation that seems reasonable then check for in dependant reviews on the hotels. There are a couple of Best Western hotels in the downtown area however they are not too cheap.
Oh, the Empress could be considered to be "antique" but that is the basis of it's charm. It is the "grand dame" of hotels in Victoria but you do pay for the privilege. I have stayed there a few times over the years when I can afford it. The Grand Pacific is newer and quite nice but also expensive. I generally stay at the Chateau Victoria however their rooms do not have built in air conditioning which is their main problem. They have portable air conditioners in the suites, not sure about the standard rooms since I stay in their suites. It is not fancy but it is comfortable.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
go to the ocean island inn, cheap $20 per night, no curfew lots of cool people, live music, bar and restaurant.
Now, I'm not sure what you think about victoria, or where you are coming from but I have never stayed anywhere claiming to be a hotel that does not have indoor plumbing. Also, you are hard pressed to find an air conditioner in Victoria. We simply don't need them.

Which hotel in Pattaya is better: The Queen Victoria inn on Soi 6 or the Secrets hotel near walking street?
I'm going to pattaya for the fist time at the end of september. I have heard great things about both of these hotels and I'm trying to decide which one to choose.Which hotel in Pattaya is better: The Queen Victoria inn on Soi 6 or the Secrets hotel near walking street?
Lu ma man, theres loads of better Hotels than they two dumps.Soi 6 is empty just now,so is most of Pattaya,2 of my mates have bars in Soi 6.The Jack Tar.and The Clansman.Soi 6 is good for the girls, but would not stay there,it depends on how much you want to spend per night,i usually stay in Soi Dianna,The Araca Lodge Hotel,2 pools, breakfast in the mornong sports room, gymnasium, very clean, great value for money, and the bars are right outside.want to know more, let me know.Andi
I like the location of Queen Vic because it is more central. Stay there for a couple nights and check out the other place. Bars and restaurants are cheaper near QV area, easier access for cheap travel on songthaews. There are many other hotels in Pattaya than just these two to look over.
Happy hunting.Which hotel in Pattaya is better: The Queen Victoria inn on Soi 6 or the Secrets hotel near walking street?
Secrets for sure the girls from heaven will take care of you plus you do not want to run the Soi 6 gauntlet every day.
Diana Inn on second road is best. Queen vic is o.k but no swimming pool. Secrets is just off walking street again I don't think it has a swimming pool.Which hotel in Pattaya is better: The Queen Victoria inn on Soi 6 or the Secrets hotel near walking street?

Those phone numbers look odd too. A London number would start +44 20....
The number is valid; it's a "find me anywhere" number, meaning the user can instruct the phone operator to forward his phones (land line, cell etc) to that number and it will find him wherever he directs. http://www.ukphoneinfo.com/cgi-bin-Phone鈥?/a> tells you more. But rather unusual to have a FAX number set up this way.

The Park Plaza is at 239 Vauxhall Bridge RoadIs there any hotel by name of Park Plaza Victoria Hotel at this address: 349 Vauxhall Bridge Road, SW1V 1EQ ?
I think I have stayed at the above mentioned hotel.
Can't remember the exact address but it was park plaza, and it was on vauxhall road so must be the same one.
What do you want to know?
It took us ages to find by foot and eventually we got a taxi.
It is near tate art gallery but there are 2 so watch out!
Quite an expensive hotel but remember the bed was quite nice.Is there any hotel by name of Park Plaza Victoria Hotel at this address: 349 Vauxhall Bridge Road, SW1V 1EQ ?

How to get to Victoria Island Canada from seatlle Wa?...what to do there and any good hotels?
There isn't a Victoria Island near Seattle, there is Vancouver Island, with the city of Victoria, capital of BC on it.
For that you have several options of getting there. You can fly with Alaska Airlines from SeaTac to Sidney and then drive about 30/45 minutes into Victoria. You can take the Victoria Clipper from downtown Seattle to downtown Victoria. You can drive up to Port Angles and take the Coho Ferry from there to downtown Victoria. You can drive up to Whidbey Island and take a ferry through the San Juan Islands to Sidney and then drive into downtown Victoria. Or you can drive up through Blaine into Canada, go to Twassen take the ferry to Sidney and then drive from there or take a bus.
Hotels it depends on what you want to pay there is the Empress, Clarion, Holiday inn and several others right in downtown Victoria. How to get to Victoria Island Canada from seatlle Wa?...what to do there and any good hotels?

Hello all, I have two questions, the first one about a hotel in Victoria. It is called " Havas royal Hotel?
I want to know any information about this hotel, please. Secondly what are the Canadian Health Insurance registered Companies?Hello all, I have two questions, the first one about a hotel in Victoria. It is called " Havas royal Hotel?
I visit Victoria every year and have never heard of this hotel. I checked on the website indicated in the previous answer (although a general search of the internet failed to find the website) and noted several cautions.
The phone numbers indicated are not numbers for Victoria, BC. The toll free number is one I have never seen. The prefix 080 is not one I have ever seen for a toll free number in Canada. The other phone number has an area code generally associated with a cell phone, not a land line. There is no phone book listing for the hotel.
The external links on website do not work, only those that show the hotel itself although the only thing shown is interior pictures, there are no pictures of the exterior of the building. Several of the other links, including for reservations do not work which would make it difficult for the hotel to have guests, even if they acrually had rooms.
The website refers, in it's description of itself, as "the royal Scot" which is a real hotel in Victoria however I have stayed there several times and, unless they have changed a lot in the past year, they do not have all of the facilities mentioned.
The address 42B Quebec Street is suspicious as although there is a Quebec St all numbers I have seen are 3, not 2, digit.
The room pictures provided appear to be of a variety of styles, unlikely to be in the same hotel, and several of the images seen through the windows are not from Victoria. A couple show ocean views that are not from the area and, for a hotel located on Quebec St, impossible due to it's location. It appears that whoever designed this website used a variety of pictures from other hotels to create it.
There is one picture of a hotel courtesy shuttle. The only problem is that shuttles serve as advertising for the hotel and this one has nothing indicated on it to show any connection with any hotel. It appears to be a car dealer courtesy shuttle used for people who bring their cars in for repair. I may be wrong but the picture is fuzzy which tends to indicate that it was taken on a street somewhere of a shuttle or the image was deliberatly blurred, in either case very suspicious.
As time goes by people running cons become more creative and certainly this is the most creative I have ever seen. Do not respond to any email offers or the online employment application form as it is my opinion that you will end up losing money and your personal information.
Thanks alot I have discoverd that they decieve people also to ask them send money and cheat them. Thanks alot for you best answers.

Does anyone reported this at all i know a friend who spent a lot of money lately if this is scam can anyone please help me on this one. Yes he did recieve an email from havas royal hotel and immigration submitted all the requirements they were asking for..
Try googleHello all, I have two questions, the first one about a hotel in Victoria. It is called " Havas royal Hotel?
There is a Havas Royal Hotel in Victoria, BC. This is their website:
http://www.havasroyalhotel.com/
Be aware that there are criminals who are sending out spam email about Canadian hotels. They are actually located in Nigeria and use free email accounts to try and scam you and get you to send money for processing a job application.
If you are trying to find out if the Havas Hotel is a real hotel because you received a job offer from them by email, make sure you throw that out and don't send any money.
As for Canadian health insurance companies, most Canadians have access to government-operated medical care, so not sure what companies are available. The only one I know about is Blue Cross Canada

HEY! HEY! HEY!
Hold on. YOU MIGHT HAVE JUST TRIPPED INTO ONE OF THE BIGGEST SCAMS EVER RECORDED OVER THE NET.
I don't know how or by what means you got the offer. It might be legitiamte but who knows.Don't risk it. Why Nigeria at the end of the world. In case you are into what I suspect than you are in trouble.
You have no Idea what you are moving into. America alone looses more than 1 million every year in the hands of this
scam bags. Why do I speak of it in this way?
BECAUSE EVEN I WAS TRICKED 2 YEARS AGO. AND AS I AM ANSWERING YOU, YOU ARE NOT THE FIRST ONE ON
Yahoo Answers that I have answered. I encounter one like you every two week's time.
I am glad that you asked.
Because I have tasted how it feels and I just don't enjoy the thaught of finding another person getting tricked. Thus when I find someone with
NIGRIA LAGOS. I make sure they don't make the same mistake that most of us have unknowingly made.
how they work--
* they will send you a tricky offer, say an online lotto victory or the transfer of million dollars of money from a dead man's account.
* they will ask you to report back for confirmation
* then they will send you forms with fake govt signs which you will need to fill up and send to them
* then they will ask you for an initial amount so that they can carry out with the rest of the procedure
* and when you send them the amount, that's it you are done for.
- they will disappear in a way they never existed
- your no email will be ever answered.
I even had telephonic converation with one of the bug tooths.
2 years ago I received an email stating that I have won 1.5 million USD in a promotional lotto. And they wanted me to report back.I did. They congratulated me that I have been recognised and my money will be sent soon. But they wanted me to send them an amount of $750 so that the money can be transfered. I went frantic. I was new to internet. I thaught it was my lucky day. $750 never seemed too big infront of
1.5 million.I tried every possible means to arrange the money. I am just a student(even now, in my under graduate) and $750 was not a matter of joke. And after a month of hustle I could not collect enough. So I was not able to send them the money and they left me after a lot of email communications. I broke I went paranoid with the sense that I felt being betrayed by God.I was blind.
After 2 years of that incident in March this year I came across a site on Yahoo that was fighting against this people. There were several letters posted on the web page and the painful part was, there were letters which had perfect resemblance with the letter I had received.I was shocked. And then I thanked God for protecting me from being getting robbed of some hard earned money. So today I stand fighting against them CAUSE I HATE THEM FOR WHAT THEY DO.
You might not trust me. That dosen't even matter me. But before going behind them just try "Nigeria Scams" on Yahoo or Google. You will find what I am talking about. They have been catogorized by that name. They have created so much of lose of property around the globe that some of the reputed anty-spam softwares have included them in their catlogue.
I know how it feels when someone tells you what you are going behind is WRONG. Cause I felt the same whem my uncle tried to stop me.I ignored him stating him to be a looser and uncool. They create such kind of effect. Still I would say STOP! If you can read it clear NIGERIA LAGOS.
There will be even more real answers to your qustion cause you and me are not alone to have been targeted.
Thank god that I found you. I believe I have convinced you enough. I know it hurts.
I am not going to make any profit out of it but there will be a satisfaction deep down my mind that I just stopped one more person from getting robbed. That dose count for me. For the fact that I was fooled out of my innocence today I stand against them to break there rat teeth.
I didn't lose $750 but lost atleast some $200 in the whole time running around from place to place.

It's a scam. Don't deal with anyone from Nigeria who's trying to sell you anything. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

Can anyone recommend a hotel near Victoria station in London England that moderately priced?
You've quite a choice around Victoria, from smart chic hotels to cheapo B%26amp;Bs. I've always thought the Thistle chain is pretty good value for money, and there are two near Victoria station.. also maybe try the Belgravia B%26amp;B, very smart and not too dear either.. lastly of course, if you're short of cash and don't mind sleeping in an orange box, then easyhotel is the one for you... I've also added a link that should take you to a list of all hotels near Victoria too..!Can anyone recommend a hotel near Victoria station in London England that moderately priced?

The Easyhotel is really cheap (拢25+ per night) and would be clean but very basic.

Athens hotel locations: Is Victoria Square a good location for sight seeing?
I am traveling to Athens in 2 weeks for 3 days of sight seeing. I have what looks like a great hotel located 5 minutes from Victoria Square, near the Victoria station at: 62 Filis Street, Athens 104 34, Greece
The location is not mentioned in guide books which instead recommend Syntagma Square and Plaka/ Monastiraki.
If someone who knows Athens can ofer an opinion as to whether Victoria Station is a suitable choice (we are young in healthy, so don't mind some walking).Athens hotel locations: Is Victoria Square a good location for sight seeing?
Hi Canabou,
Indeed, the Victoria square is very close to the historical center of Athens (one station away by metro which is right at the square). Hotels are significantly cheaper as well compared to those at the Syntagma square. That being said, the square itself or the surrounding area is nothing special (very busy, rather smoggy due to the excessive traffic but still very much Athenian). All in all, I would say it is a good, rational choice. I also must say that somewhere at the Filis street there were some houses with red lights back in the old days. I don't know, however, how that looks like now (have that in mind though...).
If I may say, I would still try to find a hotel in Paleo Faliro, an area in the south bay area of Athens that still is no more than 10 minutes away from the historical center (by tram).
Here are my choices:
for 140$/night
http://www.coralhotel.gr/en/default.asp
for 86$/night
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-鈥?/a>
for possibly less (ask for their prices). It is not at the bay but still it looks interesting and modern.
http://www.nestoriohotel.gr/hospitality_鈥?/a>
And so many others at Paleo Faliro.
Have a nice stay!
It is true that it is in the heart of Athens, closed also to the national museum.Be careful in the evening, the area is not so safe..Athens hotel locations: Is Victoria Square a good location for sight seeing?
PLEASE FIND ANOTHER LOCATION! Filis street is the street where all the brothels are found, the hotel is probably a hotel for hookers!
It's better to find something near Syntagma, Plaka or Monastiraki.
Ten years ago, my husband and I stayed at Hostel Aphrodite:
http://www.hostelaphrodite.com/index.htm鈥?/a>
which was close to Victoria Square. It was a couple of blocks from the station. We walked to the Archaeological Museum from there every morning (we visited 2 hours a day, 3 different days--we got overwhelmed very quickly).
I think you would be fine by Victoria Square. It was quiet for being in the middle of a major city so we were able to sleep at night (the bar is in the basement and the rooms are 2 floors above). We even sent out our laundry to be done (we'd just come in from 3 weeks in the islands). I would absolutely stay in that area (and in the Hostel) again.
Have fun in Greece!Athens hotel locations: Is Victoria Square a good location for sight seeing?
This territory is really very close to the National Museum and provides also the facility of the Metro for your transport, but the Square itself and the whole area round it is inhabited mainly by immigrants from Albania, while Filis Street, where your hotel is located, is one of the known and tradional "red light houses" ones.
In this area no hotel can be great. Pay attention on your way back at night.
Victoria square is indeed very centrally located - and served by one metro line and several buses on the main road (Patission). The archaeological museum is at walking distance (at the moment they stage an exhibition about the ancient sculptor Praxiteles, more precise than the one in Louvre last spring), there is a big shopping area (cheaper than the one downtown around Syntagma square or Kolonaki), and you are also at walking distance from a park (Pedion tou Areos) and from the lively area of Exarcheia which offers lots of choices when eating or drinking out.
However, Filis street is indeed a street with brothels - but there is also normal accommodation. If there are any bars, I think you should avoid them.
In any case, it is always advisable in Athens as in most big cities to mind your wallet/bag in the buses and on the streets or when you sit at an outdoors cafe.
And apart from your scheduled main sightseeing (I guess Akropolis, Lycabettus, Plaka / Thissio / Monastiraki), you could include a visit to the first bienale of the city "Destruct Athens" (posters are everywhere i.e at the metro stations) at Gazi (also a good area for going out in the night) and a visit to the seaside (which is 10 min. from downtown in August, and never by tram - 40 min from Syntagma to Faliro).
yiotadelta is right. It's a great area. I lived there for a while and very much enjoyed it. Yes, it is also true it is in the red light district, and there are a number of seedy hotels, gay nightclubs and clip-joints but you will also find seedy cinemas and the sex industry around Omonia too, and most of it around Atehns is hidden: just be careful about who offers you a drink and why. and watch your wallet. As for the Albanian threat - well, the writer who cautions you about this is simply racist - he has exposed himself elsewhere - and instancing one particular group. There are others of different nationalities including Greeks. But, on the credit side, you have the Museum, Exarchia and so on. Also a great church designed by Kontoglou in the park and a bust of Cavafy appropriately at the end of Alexandras. If you don't choose to live here, make sure you visit the area. And just past the park, there are some excellent and cheap restaurants.
I advise you to avoid this location. In the past 10 years it has become a ghetto, and one of the places where at night Albanian gangs solve their problems at. Any Greeks left sell their appartments move to other areas of Athens.
Take care.
Sum up all the advice given above. With all that in mind, neither Albanians nor hookers should be a hinder to your visit.
You were fairly warned and you will only have yourself to blame if something wrong on the very extreme happened to you. It could be just as easily happen in any major city, and not only, in Europe or the States.
Don't let extreme views interfere with your visit. It is people like them that make them act that way.

Any nice cheap hotels near Victoria Station (london) double room inclusive of breakfast?
You should go to http://uk.yahoo.com
and search for "B%26amp;B london" or "B%26amp;B london victoria"
B%26amp;B = bed %26amp; breakfast... these are like guesthouses, but are the 3 star versions of hotels. Breakfast is always included and they are at least 3 times cheaper with any place that calls itself a "hotel" in London... the best one i know:

Hotels in Victoria, BC?
My mom says she's FINALLY gonna fulfill her promise to take me to see fireworks, next week. It's been like forever... well... about 8 years, since I've last seen them. In butchard gardens. ANYWAYS, that aside. We moved, 8 years ago. So yea, of course we don't have a house there. Is there any good hotels around the area? Clean and not too expensive.Hotels in Victoria, BC?
Have you tried www.expedia.ca. This would be the best option to find a hotel around Butchard gardens or city centre and they have reviews from other users.
I would also check out tripadvisor.com.Hotels in Victoria, BC?
There are many hotels in the Victoria area to meet a variety of budgets. I am not sure what you mean by not to expensive as that depends on your financial situation. However I suggest using a site like Expedia.ca to find hotels in your price range that look reasonably decent. Although you do not have to book through them I find this a good resource for finding available hotels and getting a general price range. You could also check tripadvisor.ca for information on hotels in the Victoria area and reviews on them.Hotels in Victoria, BC?
I like Abigail's Hotel mainly because it's clear that the highest attention is paid to every detail. From the welcoming staff, the fresh cookies and complimentary bottled water, to the most outstanding breakfast ever in a B%26amp;B! Highly discerning travelers will be greatly rewarded.

Hi,
I have also received an email just a few hours ago stating the same thing as yours but I did not respond to it. I emailed Queen Victoria Hotel in Canada and told them everything about it so they would also know if someone is just using their company's name. I came across your question while searching the name of Alex Corra. Do not reply or send your personal info to those whom you do not know, or if in doubt, better search first or ask anyone whom you can trust about it. People nowadays will find ways of how they can use modern technology for their scams.
I hope you did not send your SS number or anything that they can use for their benefit.
Just an update: Gillian Kleu, Reservations Manager of The Queen Victoria Hotel in Canada replied to my email and said that it is a scam and that we should not respond to it.Is the job at Queen Victoria Hotel in Canada legal?

I don't know about hotels but I've tried these guys before who have some great apartments and many are good value compared to a hotel. http://www.holiday-velvet.com/london There are so many cool bars in london that it's difficult to recommend one other the other but there is a good restaurant at the top of the market in Covent Garden with a nice terrace that's open if the weathers good.
How many questions.. OK.. Hotels first..
For cheap as chips, I'd recommend easyHotels or a Guest house.. (links below list a few options)
Daytime, depends on day of week.. if it's the weekend then Greenwich is cool to hang around, plenty to do/see, covered markets, cool bars and pubs etc.
It's also close to Canary Wharf which has another good selection of swanky bars/restaurants (built for all the rich corporates that work there!).
Have fun!CHEAP hotels in London? Preferably in Victoria/Westminister area or West End?
The cheapest hotel in the Victoria area I know is the Easy Hotel. It is very, very basic, almost like a hostel but its very clean and you have your own room. Window is optional, I joke you not!! If the weather is good go to Hyde Park. For swanky eateries there is Chez Gerard in Victoria or Covent Garden.

It's an agency called Uptown Reservations, which offers accommodation with breakfast in very upmarket private homes. I'm sure they'd have somewhere to suit you. And single rooms start from 拢72, which is well within your budget.
All guest rooms have their own private bathrooms; many also add on a private sitting-room. And the hospitality is always great -- lots of good advice on places to visit and stuff. Everyone I've ever booked for has loved staying with Uptown and said it was much better than a conventional hotel.
Worth a call? Hope so. =D

but keep your expectations low. You get what you pay for and its very rare to get both cheap and nice in the real sense. There are a few decent for around 拢70-80 but not family run. Why the family requirement?

Which hotels are closest to Victoria Station in London, England?
Obviously, I'd prefer a hotel that maybe you had a good experience with or that you heard someone else praise?
I'd prefer to stay as close as possible to the major Victoria hub. Last time, I stayed in Pimlico, and didn't care to waste the precious time walking to and from my hotel a few times a day.
Other than that, I loved jolly old England %26amp; can't wait to go again ;%26gt;Which hotels are closest to Victoria Station in London, England?
The very closest is the Thistle Victoria, which is physically attached to the station. However it is probably quite expensive. If cost is not an option there is also the Thistle Westminster on Buckingham Palace Road, two blocks from the station. There is another hotel, called the Victoria Plaza, I think, just behind the station, off Wilton Road. Belgrave Road has many hotels and guesthouses; if yours was too far I'm sure there are other similar ones a bit closer.
I can't comment on the quality of any of them as I live in the area and have not had cause to stay in any. My parents liked the Victoria Inn on Belgrave Rd.Which hotels are closest to Victoria Station in London, England?
Try the Park Lane Mews Hotel. It has a great location in Mayfair.
Its a very short walk to the park, Buckingham Palace, Green Park Tube station, etc.
It was an 8 pound cab ride from Victoria Station but you could walk if you wanted.Which hotels are closest to Victoria Station in London, England?
You can try hotels on Ebury Street which is only 5 minutes walkm from Victoria station and in Belgravia a very nice area. If you are looking for a budget bed and breakfast try http://www.alisonhousehotel.co.uk or alternatively get discount hotels at http://www.londonvacationguide.com

What are the closest travel lodges, hotels, inns, guest houses etc to manchester victoria train station?
some place very close to the station would help. i don't want to know about any place that may be too far. some place close enough for me to walk from the manchester victoria train station in manchester. please help!!!!What are the closest travel lodges, hotels, inns, guest houses etc to manchester victoria train station?
I can鈥檛 think of any really close to Victoria Station, but there are a few hotels about a 15 minute walk across town (Malmasion, Picadilly Jarvis, Gardens Hotel, Raddison Edwardian) but a lot of these are very expensive. The Gardens Hotel isn鈥檛 too bad.
You can get a tram from Victoria Station to St. Peter鈥檚 Square, which is near the Midland Hotel (also expensive) or you can get a tram to G-Mex which is right near a Travelodge. You could still walk from that Travelodge to Victoria but it鈥檚 about a 20-25 minute walk.

Good Hotels In Victoria TX PLEASE HELP!?
I am going down to Victoria for my cousins graduation and we are staying in a hotel for 3 nights.
Can anyone give me tips on some nice hotels out there.
Is La Quinta ghetto? I don't want to stay in a nasty hotel but I don't want to spend too much money.
Thanks.Good Hotels In Victoria TX PLEASE HELP!?
Strong suggestion:
Check out the town in the various hotel sites - hotels.com, priceline.com, expedia.com, etc. Read the guest reviews! If there's anything bad it'll be there, I promise.
When booking, believe it or not, you'll find the best rate if you go to the specific hotel brand's website, get the phone number and call the hotel directly to make your reservation.
Good luck to you!

Now planning a trip to the Victoria Falls in March 2009 and wonder why all the major hotels aren't available?
Is it dangerous to stay in a lodge in the Victoria Falls I just managed to find on the Internet? A friend of mine who used to live in Zambia recommended I and my friend (both women) should find a place to stay in Zambia instead of Zimbabwe. Now planning a trip to the Victoria Falls in March 2009 and wonder why all the major hotels aren't available?
Going to Zimbabwe right now is definitely not your best idea ever! And it may indeed be the worst idea you have ever had. You really do need to research Robert Mugabe and Zimbabwe to see why LillyB and I are advising you to stay away. I cannot imagine why you do not know about ZIm - have to be living in a vacuum not to know this. I am sure there is a lot of info a google.com but try http://www.google.co.za/ - South Africa, being a neighbour to Zim, undoubted has more info.
Again: This is a very bad idea right now - perhaps a suicidal idea!
Nikkitee-nee's, i my self am going to victoria falls in march 2009, i have done my research but if you go a little into detail, yes there is a cholera epidemic, but not in matabeleland (west Zimbabwe), and no political violence or anything llike that in matabeleland look it up, contact me
You are joking! You would have to be insane to want to travel to Zimbabwe right now - don't you watch the news? I would imagine if you check the Home Office site they will tell you not to go.
There is a cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe at the moment. There are major problems in all departments, economy, political, health, you name it. Your friend is correct. Zambia is much better, and one is also able to access the Victoria Falls from there. Now planning a trip to the Victoria Falls in March 2009 and wonder why all the major hotels aren't available?
Vic Falls is absolutely amazing and worth a visit, but it is not worth your life. You have a good friend she has given you good advice, reciprocate and take her advice go to Zambia rather.
You want to go to Livingston, Zambia (borders Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe)
Zambia may be safer but the view is better from the Zimbabwean side.
There are reputable hotels in Victoria falls like Elephant Hills, Kingdom Hotel etc
Go to Livingstone in Zambia to see the falls, safe with nice places to stay. Check the southern sun group of hotels(They have 2 places there). You can find great places for a lot cheaper but if u want 5 star u can use SS.
More important Botswana is another country that borders right there. You can find some of the best game viewing in the world only 1hour from vic falls. Botswana side.
I would stay in a lodge in Botswana %26amp; do a day trip to the falls.
Theres so many options, u should buy a book really.

What is one of th enicest hotels to stay in, in Victoria?
Money is not my main concern. What is one of th enicest hotels to stay in, in Victoria?
The Empress is nice, but very antiquey. Older people tend to prefer it, but younger people kind of find it outdated.
For something more modern the Laurel Point is fabulous. Try to book the honeymoon suites or the Penthouse for a double jacuzzi tub to die for and wrap around views of the harbour

There is a hotel right in downtown Victoria called the Empress that I once had tea and it was reall nice inside. It's a Fairmont Hotel. What is one of th enicest hotels to stay in, in Victoria?
Empress Hotel
Rose Wood Victoria Inn
The Fairmont Empress is by far the most prestigious and traditional hotel in Victoria. It is a great location for tourist activities and a great view of the Parliament Buildings and Inner Harbour. Don't forget the afternoon tea, a Victoria tradition.
Other options are Laurel Point Inn and the Coast Victoria Harbourside Hotel. What is one of th enicest hotels to stay in, in Victoria?
The Empress is the place to be seen and to be able to say you stayed in. Right at the heart of town it appears on most of the pictures of the city centre. Old-style luxury from another era. And of course that's what makes Victoria special -- it doesn't really belong in North America and it doesn't really belong in the 21st Century. It's a sort of transplant from late 19th Century England.
History wise, I have to say the Empress - even if you do not stay there, stop by and go down stairs to the archives and read the histpry of the hotel. Very interesting.
We used to stay there but have to say Laurel Point is our prefered hotel now. Both are expensive but worth it.human revolution reckoning band

Your best bet is to stay near Victoria, as Wembley is a bit of a depressing place. There are tons of cheap hotels near Victoria Station. They are mostly situated in Belgrave Road. Check some out in this link.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
